Floating Head Configuration
Dual-Side Cleanability & Extreme Temperature Resilience
Discuss with Engineers
Technical Overview
Our Floating Head heat exchangers feature one tubesheet that is fixed to the shell, while the other tubesheet floats freely inside the shell. This design combines the thermal expansion benefits of a U-tube with the mechanical cleanability of straight-tube systems.
Engineering Specifications
| TEMA Configuration | TEMA S/T Types (e.g., AES, AET) |
| Floating Tubesheet | Gasketed split-ring or pull-through backing ring |
| Thermal Expansion | Unrestricted floating tubesheet expansion |
| Cleanability | Removable bundle, cleanable on both sides |
| Weld Type | Strength-welded or double-expanded tube-to-tubesheet |
Key Engineering Features
Double-Sided Cleaning
Allows complete removal of the tube bundle and straight tubes, enabling manual brush cleaning inside the tubes and mechanical washing between the tubes.
Expansion Tolerance
The floating head moves independently of the shell shell-wall, absorbing thermal shock from sudden, severe temperature shifts.
High-Fouling Service
Specially recommended for heavy petrochemical refining, crude oil preheating, and other high-fouling fluids.
